Cruisers drive up with cash to spend
My mission was simple: find the miscreants who trash Woodward business parking lots every year leading up to the Dream Cruise, and track down the business owners who scream and complain about the world's largest intentional traffic jam. - 08/07/2008

Keep the cruising mood going with these tunes
These aren't songs about cruising, which with the Woodward Dream Cruise has evolved into a tame, family-friendly street festival. These are songs about the original outlaw, teenage activity we came to call cruising -- songs that make it feel like you're already speeding down the highway under the moon, in a powder-blue Corvette. - 08/07/2008

Wear, display, listen to or watch a bit of the event that glorifies America's long love affair with the automobile. The Woodward Dream Cruise's Web site, www.woodwarddreamcruise.com, has plenty of snazzy items for sale. - 08/07/2008
Auto-matic good times
Ask fans to name their favorite perch for watching cars roll past in the days leading up to the Dream Cruise, and one spot keeps popping up: Duggan's Irish Pub , at 31501 Woodward Ave., north of 13 Mile, in Royal Oak. - 08/07/2008
Fill up your engine with Model Tea, Cruise Cookies
The Dream Cruise is a kick for all, not just those behind the wheel, but for the hundreds of people who line Woodward Avenue to get a glimpse of the classic cars. But all that smiling and waving can make one hungry and thirsty, so here are two ways to keep cool and satisfied. - 08/07/2008
Charities cash in with fundraising parties
In 1994, the Woodward Dream Cruise started as a small fundraiser for a soccer field in Ferndale. Today, more than 100 local charities benefit from the sale of official Dream Cruise merchandise. And now, others are getting into the act of planning special occasions around Dream Cruise (and during Crusin' MotorCities, the new auto-tourism festival that takes place the week prior to the Dream Cruise) to raise money for charitable causes by sponsoring independent social events. Here's a listing. - 08/07/2008

Dreaming and cruising low and slow
You crouch deep, almost into fetal position, to get into Potente's ride. The '48 Chevrolet Fleetline is inches from the ground because Potente, which is Spanish for powerful, has radically dropped the car's suspension -- classic lowrider style. Potente's alter ego, Gilbert Diaz, usually drives an Astro minivan, but on a recent August night he's at the heart of where men dream lowrider dreams: southwest Detroit's Clark Park. - 08/06/2008

On a perfect Sunday in late June, special vehicle owners with an interest in supporting the station -- or perhaps just looking for a chance to sit in the sun and show off their collector cars -- nearly filled the parking areas around the depot just across the tracks from rusting towers bearing the familiar red-and-white checkered Purina label. -- Jul. 13, 2008
