Special Corvettes put on a very special collection show
ST. CHARLES, Ill. -- Even with only 6,900 miles on its odometer, Robert Plaster's 1974 Corvette wouldn't figure to be a candidate for display in the Special Collection section of Bloomington Gold, America's Original Corvette Show, held here on the fairways of the Pheasant Run Resort west of Chicago.

Though the big 100th anniversary party is to be held next month at Pontiac, the celebration certainly got a good kickoff Sunday at the 13th annual Orphan Car Show in here Riverside Park, where nearly 50 of the 348 registered vehicles traced their roots to Hudson. Several others represented Nash, with which Hudson merged in 1954, or American Motors, the company that resulted from that merger.
