Chrysler's product lineup struggles in showrooms
DETROIT -- The latest numbers on auto sales show that Chrysler needs to quickly figure out how to navigate the car market as deftly as it did bankruptcy court. Ford's Fusion midsize car outsold all eight Chrysler brand models combined in June. Only one Chrysler Group LLC model showed a sales increase over June of last year, the Dodge Challenger muscle car. - 7:32 pm

Cummins reopening Ind. plant where Dodge Ram engine made; another closes
COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Cummins Inc. is recalling 400 laid-off workers as it resumes production at a Columbus factory, while nearly 300 people lost their jobs as an auto parts company idled a plant in nearby Shelbyville.
Allen Park-based parts maker shutting down Indiana plant
SHELBYVILLE -- Meridian Automotive Systems is idling a central Indiana factory, putting 295 people out of work.
