Pumpkins thrown from overpass injure driver in Plymouth Twp.

Plymouth Township --A 50-year-old Pinckney man was injured early this morning when pumpkins were thrown from an overpass onto M-14, smashing through the windshield of his 2007 Ford Ranger, police said.

Michigan State Police at the Metro South Post in Taylor are investigating the felonious assault.

Three pumpkins were tossed over the Ridge Road overpass about 3:35 a.m. as the Pinckney man traveled westbound on M-14. Two of the pumpkins hit the front of the pickup truck and one crashed through the windshield, striking the driver, police said.

The Pinckney man was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, where he is in stable condition, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Michigan State Police Metro South Post at (734) 287-5000.
