Lincoln Park man receives life sentence for murders

Doug Guthrie / The Detroit News

Detroit -- A Lincoln Park man was sent to prison for life without chance of parole today when sentenced for his conviction for a double slaying and arson in Riverview.

Doyle Palmer, 41, was found guilty in the murders of John "Jack" Mascow, 63, and Dennis Langley, 62, on Feb. 27, 2008. Mascow was beaten, stabbed and shot. Langley was stabbed in the skull and liver.

His sentencing for murder was mandatory as was Palmer's 12 to 80 years for arson and home invasion, which were enhanced by the fact that he is a four-time felony offender.
