A major dramatic film with an impressive cast plans to use the University of Michigan as its backdrop, says U-M spokeswoman Mary F. Masson.
"Trust," starring Clive Owen, Catherine Keener and Oscar-nominated Viola Davis, will begin production at the university's North Campus Research Complex next month. The complex was formerly the property of pharmaceutical giant Pfizer before the university purchased it in June. The site is not open to the public.
In the film, Owen ("Duplicity," "The Boys are Back") and Keener ("Where the Wild Things Are") play the parents of a 14-year-old girl who is victimized by an adult posing as a teenager on a chat room. Davis ("Doubt") plays a sexual assault counselor. "Trust" is being directed by David Schwimmer ("Friends," "Madagascar"). The film is scheduled for a 2011 for release.
