Detroit -- Seeking help for the holidays, Murian Payne recently was referred to Volunteers of America Michigan, a Southfield-based nonprofit human service agency. It is one of several local agencies The Detroit News partners with for Helping Hands, which links low-income families from across the area to aid during the holiday season.
